Labour relations, workers, employers, labour disputes, cancellation, termination, compensation and removal of irregularities in labour relations
Labour law governs labour relations between the employer and the employee. At the same time labour law also governs the relations between the employees (sindicates, protection against mobbing, etc.) and relations with the state. Labour law and worker’s rights change in different time periods, especially in times of favourable economic growth.
Notwithstanding this, the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia, The Labour law act and other regulations in the field of labour law guarantee there is a minimum of labour rights in any given time. At the same time labour law is connected with ILO conventions on the international level and with different collective agreements on the national level.
Smaller companies tend to be more flexible in relationships with the employees than larger companies where everything needs to be in line with their internal acts. However all these internal acts should be in line with the Labour law act and should not take away the guaranteed minimum rights of the employees.
Typically, clients are in need of legal assistance during the employment or after its termination. Legal assistance often involves preparation of various documents, complaints, representation in court etc.

Clients may also receive help from the labour inspection or trade unions should the worker be their member. Both lawyers Dr. Franci Ježek and Gorazd Snoj offer legal advice and support in the field of labour law not only on the basis of the existing law, but also on the basis of the existing case law.
In exceptional cases, the employee may sue the state for damages, when it does not meet the criteria provided by the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia, the labour law act or other laws on the international level that oblige the state e.g. EU regulations, directives, ratified ILO conventions.
